Dear all,
Since I am in India, I wanted to cook something new for my mom on Ekadashi. Since she does not eat regular poha, I partially ground the poha in the blender. Here are the quick and recipes.
Spicy Poha: Serves 4
2 cups ground poha
1 tbsp oil
1 chopped potato
1 slit green chili
2 tsp of Rasam Powder
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 Lemon juice
Finely chopped cilantro
1-2 cups hot water
Salt
For tudka:
1 tsp Channa dal
1 tsp Urad dal
1 tsp Mustard
1/2 tsp Jeera
1 tbsp peanuts (optional)
Hing - a pinch
Method:
Take a pan and add oil. Prepare tadka with all the ingredients mentioned. Add green chili, chopped potato and cook for 3-4 mins. Once its half cooked, add a bit of water and let it cook until the potatoes are softer. Add turmeric powder, rasam powder, lemon juice, salt and cook for few mins. Add 1-2 cups of hot water. Add ground poha and cook until the poha is well cooked. Garnish some chopped cilantro and serve hot.
Yogurt Poha:
1 cup ground Poha
1 cup yogurt
1/2 cup milk
Salt
Finely chopped cilantro
1 cup Hot Water
For tudka:
1 tsp Channa dal
1 tsp Urad dal
1 tsp Mustard
1/2 tsp Jeera
Hing - a pinch
Method:
Take ground poha and add hot water and mix well. Set aside for 10-12 mins until Poha is soft. Add yogurt, milk, salt and mix well. Let it soak for 15 mins. Add Tadka & cilantro mix well and serve it with spicy Poha :)
Hope you all enjoy these quick poha recipes!
